Marvel’s Midnight Suns gets delayed again
Firaxis Games announced Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be once again delayed.
The developers still hope to have the game within the 2022 fiscal year, which means it could release any time between now and July of next year. Marvel’s Midnight Suns was original slated for an October release, but perhaps this delay will be for the better as October is jam-packed with game releases.
When the game does release, it’ll be available across Windows PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is being developed by Firaxis as an XCOM meets Marvel mashup game. It combines RPG elements, Marvel lore, and the strategy game goodness that Firaxis has been known for.

Personally, I am gutted by this delay, while not the first time that Marvel’s Midnight Suns, this is one of the games that I was excited for this year, now the idea of having to possibly wait eight months to play it is discouraging.
But hopefully these delays are more about finding an opening in the game release avalanche then it is about trying to improve upon the game. Knowing Firaxis, it will be releasing in a rather polished state already, so I do not think I need to worry there.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns was originally announced in a year ago in August of 2021 and was scheduled for a March 2022 release date before a delay pushed it back to October of 2022. Now with this delay, it is safe to assume that the game will be available sometime in 2023.
Currently, the game is in development for PC and consoles as well, and it looks like I will be waiting just a little bit longer to get my hands on this Marvel adventure. Ever since I played Crystal Dynamics’ Guardians of the Galaxy, I have really warmed up to Marvel games again, even if I am not a fan of Marvel comic books anymore.
Looks like I’ll have to scratch my superhero itch with some Gotham Knights in October while I wait.
