League of Legends is in its 14th year of existence, ever since it went live back in 2009. Throughout the years, Riot has made constant changes to the game, adding champions and bringing updates to make the game refreshing. Learning and mastering all these characters takes time. Riot has a system that unlocks champions with Blue Essence, but getting all of them requires a lot of playtime.
Luckily for newcomers and those who do not wish to spend money to get the champions, Riot gives players the chance to try most of them with the weekly champion rotation, allowing them to test out the given champion for free.
Currently, the developers allow you to get 16 free champions each week. The free champion rotation switches up every week on Tuesday, so make sure to come and check out which ones you can try on Summoners’ Rift for the given week.
These are the champions that are part of this week’s free champion rotation:
- Graves
- Jax
- Miss Fortune
- Morgana
- Neeko
- Sett
- Shen
- Singed
- Sivir
- Sylas
- Teemo
- Vladimir
- Wukong
- Yassuo

Best champions to play in this week’s free rotation
League of Legends is an extremely dynamic game, where patches can make certain strategies or champions stronger than others. By looking at the current weekly rotation, we are going to break down the strongest champions to play, one per role.
- Top – Jax
- Jungle – Wukong
- Mid – Sylas
- ADC – Miss Fortune
- Support – Zilean
Ever since his mid-scope update, Jax has been one of the strongest top laners in the game. He offers great damage during any point of the game, and his dueling ability is almost uncontested. While he does require a bit of mechanics to make the most out of him, you will be able to destroy them as soon as you get the hang of the Grandmaster at Arms.

If you’re looking for a strong jungler to pick up and learn, go for Wukong. He remains one of the best skirmishing junglers in the game, and thanks to the recent Black Cleaver buffs, his mid-game spike is even stronger.
There aren’t many choices when it comes to mid laners this week, but we recommend playing Sylas. The champion is extremely satisfying to play and is one of the best to outplay the enemies with Hijack (R) and his W. He’s not an easy champion, but all the best mid laners in the world have a great Sylas.
For ADCs, instead, Miss Fortune is probably the one to go. As long as you play it with the best supports for her, she can single-handedly carry games with a great Bullet Time (R).
To round off the list, we have Zilean among the supports. While Morgana is the more popular champion, Zilean does a better job of protecting his allies. On top of that, he has insane crowd controls and one of the most powerful ultimates with his revive. If you want to make the enemies suffer during the teamfights, jump with him on Summoners’ Rift.
These are our recommendations for the week! That said, feel free to try everyone out: maybe you’ll find a special chemistry with other champions! We’ll be back next week to see who you can try in the following LoL free champion rotation!
